Small Business Tax Incentives Going FastBy KETV.com

Omaha, NE – It’s a new year with new tax incentives that could help small businesses grow.

If you run a micro business employing five or fewer full-time employees, you could qualify for special tax credits. But you need to act fast.

Omaha boasts hundreds of small businesses, some of them just starting out in this rocky economy. But those small start-ups may not know about the help that’s out there.

“Usually businesses that are start-ups don’t seek accountants right away and it could be an opportunity for them to take advantage of this credit,” Koski Professional Group CPA Adrian Lape-Brinkman said.

Lape-Brinkman said small businesses aren’t aware of all the tax breaks available, particularly the Nebraska Advantage Microenterprise Tax Credits. Businesses in Nebraska that employ five or fewer full-time people can claim up to $10,000 through that refundable credit.

“They can use that credit to either inject into the business or reduction in income tax liability for that current year,” Lape-Brinkman said.
