Think-a-lot Toys Introduces Holiday-Themed Think-ets Game

Santa vs. the Polar Bear? Yes, it’s a possible storyline in the new holiday-themed Think-ets game from Think-a-lot Toys. The growing popularity of Think-ets has encouraged the company to release yet another themed Think-ets game in its growing collection of games that stimulate imagination and creativity. Along with the existing “themed Think-ets”, including the Fairy Collection, Sports Collection, and Beach Collection, the Holiday Collection has fifteen adorable, tiny trinkets–this time with a holiday theme. The “tiny treasures” in this holiday game include a snowman, Christmas tree, present, snowflake, milk bottle, chocolate roll cake, and of course, Santa and the polar bear.

Parents love new ways to get their kids away from the computer and engaged in open-ended, creative play. Many child development specialists and play researchers, including David Elkind, Ph.D, author of the book The Power of Play, agree that such play is good for social and cognitive development. The miniature Think-ets trinkets are enough to get kids talking, sharing, laughing-even working together. Some of the games kids can play with their Think-ets include the classic memory game, “What’s Missing?”, an easy storytelling game called “What’s Your Story?” and the simple but challenging mathematical game of strategy, “Who’s Last?”. The tiny trinkets, imported from around the world, come with instructions for ten different games to play so kids rarely get bored.

Think-ets combines fun with education and are ideal for travel, family gatherings and even classrooms. Says one Mom, “We love this game and highly recommend it for families. I love the small size of the pouch–it can easily fit into a purse or diaper bag. The games are Brain-Boosters to enhance memory and critical thinking skills, and a great activity to play while waiting for a doctor’s appointment, food at a restaurant, or an anytime challenge.” All Think-ets games are assembled in the United States by people with developmental disabilities. Think-ets are not only good for kids; they are good for our community.

Think-ets Holiday Collection will be available in September. Think-ets are carried nationally at specialty toy retailers, book, gift, museum, and general stores all across the country including large outlets such as: Learning Express, AreYouGame, Amazon.com, ToysRUs, Sears.com, and Geppetto’s.

Think-a-lot Toys is a socially responsible toy company that makes the award-winning Think-ets games of imaginative play. The company was founded in 2007 after Randy Compton came up with an idea of putting miniature items into a pouch and turning it into a fun and entertaining game for kids and parents. At the International Toy Fair in New York in February 2008, Think-ets was listed as the top game/toy for the entire show by the toy reviewer at About.com. By then, Think-ets had already won five awards and was on its way to being a best seller. The company now has twelve products in its line of “toys and games that make you think” including StoryPlay Cards, Story Speller and now the Think-ets Holiday Collection.

Our mission is to create open-ended toys and games that provide entertainment, joy, and learning while stimulating imagination, memory and interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence.
