Third Street Bridge Mall new, expandedBy Sue Ellen RossPost-Trib.com

Hobart — When the store formerly known as Treasured Blessings had to move from its Main Street location, the owner didn’t want to travel too far.

An empty building right around the corner filled the bill perfectly.

Renamed Third Street Bridge Mall, the craft, collectible and gift store opened shortly before Christmas.

“We had a slow start, since the street in front was closed the first week we were opened,” said store manager Becky Morton. “But many of our regular customers, as well as new ones, found us.”

The layout of the store, as well as the inventory, expanded at the new location. There are many sections in the two-level store. Twenty-three vendors offer their items, from sports memorabilia to handmade blankets, with much in between.

“We don’t sell on consignment; they pay a monthly fee to have their items here,” Morton said. “Sports items are the best sellers, and customers also like the variety of the craft items and collectibles.”

Under the unique area, visitors will find cheese plates made from liquor bottles next to hanging wind chimes made from glass beer bottles. A stroll to a neighboring section will yield serving bowls made from vinyl records.
