Susan Branch And Thorndike Mills Introduce Home Sweet Home Collection

Martha’s Vineyard artist Susan Branch and Thorndike Mills have collaborated to design and produce a licensed line of home fashions for the Gift Industry. The newest items to bear the familiar style of the Susan Branch brand, will include wool hand hooked rugs, pillows and chair pads.

Susan Branch, is a self-taught artist and author of 14 hand-written, water-colored books, published since 1986, which all celebrate the art of the home; cooking, childcare, the four seasons, and all the little things in life. Susan has graced her charming watercolors on fine china, fabrics, stationary, pajamas, and her best selling yearly calendar.

She has been featured in magazines such as Country Living and American Patchwork and Quilting. Susan has a loyal following of readers and collectors. Each month her E-Newsletter is sent to over 40,000 people who have signed up to hear the latest news from the “Heart of the Home”.

Thorndike Mills, a family business, established in 1925, is well known for their quality manufacturing of braided rugs, and importing of distinctive hand hooked rugs. Thorndike is very excited to have partnered with Susan and to be able to introduce her brand into the “Home Sweet Home” collection of home accessories.

“It was a very exciting meeting around Susan’s kitchen table on the Vineyard, discussing the ideas of bringing her artwork to life through a new channel of textiles”, said Mitchell Garabedian, President. “Her spirit couldn’t be any more appropriate to incorporate into this category of giftware.”

The designs are diversified, but all share that common Susan Branch signature style. The patterns will be familiar to her collectors, as she has purposely created this collection to co-ordinate with her fabrics, which have all been inspired by the artwork in her books and calendars. There are patterns for those that are drawn to a more nautical feel, such as Summer Day, to designs that appeal to the home baker, such as Cupcakes. If you are looking for Holiday, she has created that too!

The new Susan Branch “Home Sweet Home” collection can be found in fine gift and home stores beginning this April.
