TMC’s Botique in Long Hill displays artists in cozy atmosphereBy Linda SadlouskosMyCentralJersey.com

Long Hill — When new — or sometimes repeat — customers enter Linda Tribuna’s small TMC’s Boutique, they are offered a five-minute tour of the shop’s jewelry, artwork, womens’ accessories and other gift items, she said.

TMC’s Boutique on Main Avenue in the Stirling section’s shopping district is crammed with unique pieces created by 16 artists, mostly from Central Jersey, Tribuna said. Shoppers from neighboring towns in Morris and Union counties and nearby communities, such as Basking Ridge, seem to enjoy exploring the merchandise displayed around the store, she said. Shoppers also seem to like stopping by for a respite from the mall experience, she said.

“It smells good, the music is soft,” Tribuna said of her space. “You are in a calming atmosphere outside of the mall’s crazy lights and noises.”

The uniqueness of the pieces, as well as reasonable prices, have brought customers into her store since it opened in the fall of 2009, Tribuna said.

Tribuna is an artist who produces black-and-white pencil drawings, wreaths, centerpieces and other painted items. She said she previously sold her work out of her Berkeley Heights home. Many of those customers now shop at her new boutique.
