Tommy Mitchell to receive ARTS Awards’ Rising Star Honor

Dallas Market Center announced that Tommy Mitchell of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, known for his intricate handmade metal artwork, will receive the Rising Star Award at the 27th annual ARTS Awards on Friday Jan. 22, 2016 at the Hilton Anatole. The Rising Star Award recognizes innovation and modern excellence selected by a committee of industry peers.

“Tommy Mitchell embodies quality, detail and design elements that are key to longevity in the home design industry,” Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center said. “We are recognizing the level of commitment he has to building the next level of quality craftsmanship in the industry.”

Creator and designer Tommy Mitchell, along with his dedicated team of artisans, hand make installations of copper, brass, steel, paint and gold leaf. With more than twenty years of experience as an artisan and art restorer, Mitchell is recognized for his notable tactile finishes and dedication to detail in his unique designs that are now available to the wholesale market.

The ARTS Awards, presented each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, recognizes top manufacturers, retailers, product designers, interior designers and sales representatives from across the world in 26 different categories. The winners will be revealed during a gala event on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. The Academy of Achievement honor is awarded each year to recognize companies and/or individuals that have made significant contributions to the industry.
