Totowa Family to Continue Legacy at New Sweet Shop on Union BoulevardBy Matthew KadoshNorthJersey.com

Totowa, NJ – The planning board has approved a pretty sweet application. Sweets & Stuff by Apollo – a candy store run by Totowa’s Potenzone family – had its site plan approved for the Union Boulevard location on Thursday night.

The store continues the legacy of Gary Potenzone Sr., the owner of Apollo Cards & Flags in Totowa, who passed away at the age of 62 in January. The shop, which has been in town for 40 years, was originally located on Route 46, before they downsized and moved to a smaller location on Union Boulevard, just across the way from the new sweet shop.

“Before he passed away we were in the process of downsizing,” said his son Gary Potenzone Jr. of his father. “We’re going to stick to more specialty items such as chocolate.”
