Uh-Oh! Zombie Alert at Booth 6269
IMDb says ” , the world’s most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content, Forget vampires, zombies are taking over the movie screens in 2013. Why are zombies the new “It” monsters?” th With the much anticipated Walking Dead series 3 and the Walking Dead Survival Instinct for Xbox due out in March the returning to TV February 10 zombie trend seems like it’s just getting started. Not to mention that there are five Zombie- themed movies slated to hit the big screen in 2013 including Brad Pitt’s World War Z and R.I.P.D. starting Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Bacon.
Why Zombies? Who knows, but the fascination of monsters and gore can now be flashed on their wrist or their locker in a fun and safe way with Mungi Bands’ 2013 Limited Edition Zombie series. There’s even a cool factor with a heat-activated color change so zombie alerts can be made from the school bus or karate class. Try on these and other popular magnetic bands from Mungi (pronounced moon-gee) Brands at Booth 6269 at the American International Toy Fair.
Mungi Brands, parent company of the silicone jewelry with an embedded magnet that allows kids to show their colors not just on their wrist but as a ring, headband or any surface a magnet can attach to (locker, bike, backpack), will be taking pre-orders of the Zombie-themed bracelets. The monsterly 3-packs, available this spring, will retail for $7.99.
Zombies continue to be a hot sensation among today’s youth. Zombie crossings, zombie detector and other gore-y fashions appeal to tweens and teens as pop culture continues holds its fascination with vampires, ghosts and spooky things from the beyond. Books, films, video games and TV shows all feature a zombie or monster roaming the neighborhoods. The February film release of Warm Bodies promotes an almost-handsome teenage zombie that appeals to both girls and boys. In other words, zombies suddenly are cool.
Mungi’s newest 3-pack bands feature zombie artwork in colors of green or red with a blood spatter here and an eyeball there. With six of the designs available to be seen at Toy Fair, the Zom-b Cross-ing band sports a yellow diamond road sign with the X made from a zombie arm and leg. Another band changes its artwork entirely based on the heat activated from the body. Perhaps the favorite sci-fi design will be the heat-censored thumbprint that’s applied in the red center of the zombie bracelet. Place a thumb there for a moment and watch as the zombie detector turns from blank to an eerie red skull with a Z imprinted into the forehead. Spooky fun!
Toy industry experts, retailers, parents and (most importantly) kids have been attracted to Mungi Bands in the brief couple of months they have come to market. To date, they’ve won praise from The National Parenting Center, Parent Tested Parent Approved, Tillywig Toy Awards, Family Review Center and a 5- star (highest) rating from What The Stuff Awards.

ABOUT MUNGI BRANDS
Why Mungi? It’s a subliminal name that’s just fun to say. Mungi Bands and Mungi Pro Bands are the first in a series of magnetic silicone jewelry (and more) to hit the market from this North Carolina-based company. Fun is key to these bands that were invented at the urging of entrepreneur Chad Anger’s three little girls. Today the business is already in talks for national and international distribution.
