Lexington, NC – The Blackbird Box recently opened across from the old Arts United building on South Main Street in uptown Lexington.

The owner, Jenine Flitton, moved to Lexington from Michigan after her husband had back surgery and couldn’t withstand the severe cold anymore. Before relocating to Lexington, Flitton sold her store of antiques, collectibles, hand-crafted items and really strange items, which she had named The Country Hen House. She packed all her merchandise in a 40-foot truck and transported it to Lexington where she opened her shop around the holidays.

“I just love reselling,” Flitton explained.
