Valdosta, GA — Susan Bean made sure travelers at the Valdosta Regional Airport can take a souvenir from Valdosta or Georgia home to remember their time spent here.

After nine years of running a gift shop in Lake Park, “it was time to start my own,” she said.

Bean owned another gift shop in South Carolina before she moved to Valdosta.

Bean opened Anna Lee’s Gifts & More on July 13 with the idea to sell local gifts and necessities for people who are coming to and leaving Valdosta.

She said she is always open to new suggestions about different things travelers might need.

“I order gifts from Waycross, and also a friend of mine is making jewelry that I sell here in the store,” she said. “Another friend is an artist, so pretty soon I’ll have some of her paintings here as well.”
