Wholesalecrafts.com Reports 2012 Year-End Sales Results: $4.7 Million in Online Sales, Record Breaking High

Wholesalecrafts.com, the premier online marketplace for retailers to source artist-made American and Canadian crafts, announces 2012 year-end sales results.

Total online shopping cart sales placed by retailers to artists throughWholesalecrafts.com’s online marketplace for 2012 came in at $4,747,496 – a 18.8% increase over 2011, and our highest recorded annual online sales amount to date. 18,346 total orders were placed online – an 14% increase from 2011, and the highest number of annual orders ever recorded. The web service also reports 966 new retailers enrolled in 2012, for a total of 21,087 registered retailers and 1,175 current artist members to date.

Except for December, all months in 2012 were record-breakers, boasting the highest online sales amounts ever recorded for those months. November came in at $579,782, the highest online sales amount ever recorded in a single month since the inception of Wholesalecrafts.com.

It is estimated that only 30% of retailer transactions are placed through their online shopping cart; the rest bypass their system by placing phone, fax or email orders directly with the artists. Considering this fact, it is more likely that artists received closer to $15.8 million in total sales revenues fromWholesalecrafts.com’s online marketplace in 2012.
