WILLIAMSBURG and Caspari Introduce Tableware and Stationary Collection

Timeless global-chic designs and contemporary colors combine with the introduction of WILLIAMSBURG’s ‘Imari’ collection of paper goods and tableware from licensee Caspari. Debuting at the National Stationary Show, May 19-22, the collection hearkens back to 18th-century Japanese-style English porcelain and features fresh, vivid oranges, rich greens and elegant turquoises. With patterns showcasing the influence of Eastern culture on early America in an on-trend color palette, the ‘Imari’ collection exemplifies the WILLIAMSBURG brand’s commitment to pairing historical inspiration with trend-forward perspective for exceptional products with enduring style.

Inspired by porcelain found in The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s archives, the ‘Imari’ collection’s intricate Japanese artistry and lively colors captures the magnitude of the British Empire’s trading power during the 18th century, when Japanese designs were exported through to England and were then translated by upscale porcelain manufacturers for fashionable clientele. These popular designs have been updated to reflect current color trends and design sensibilities for a distinctive collection that includes an assortment of tabletop wares and stationary such as note cards and gift tags.

“Caspari chose one of the most charming plates in the Colonial Williamsburg collection as the centerpiece of the ‘Imari’ collection,” Liza Gusler, product manager for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation said. “It is amazing that this dynamic pattern is more than two hundred years old.”

The price of the collection ranges from $2-$40 and can be found at fine specialty stores starting early this summer.
