Winter 2024 Atlanta Market offers gourmet product sourcing and category-specific programming this January, complete with live cooking presentations and GCX: Start the Year, a full schedule of events and education presented by GC Buying Group, during the Jan. 16-22 edition at AmericasMart Atlanta.

Gourmet offerings

Another three brands will debut or expand in winter 2024, joining seven previously announced showroom updates in gourmet, tabletop and housewares. A total of ten new and expanded showrooms augment more than 475 permanent gourmet resources at Atlanta Market.

In January, Gibson Housewares (tabletop and kitchenware) debuts a new showroom. Two expanding showrooms are Rosenthal Sambonet (fine porcelain, china and dinnerware) and Vista Alegre (crystalware and barware).

These latest updates join previously announced new showrooms Kadra Kitchenware (flatware and formal dinnerware) and Le Creuset (cookware and Dutch ovens), and previously announced expansions Harold Imports (housewares and cooking tools); Portmeirion (dinnerware and homeware); Rosse & Associates (tabletop and kitchenware); Two Lumps of Sugar (kitchen accessories); and William Yeoward Crystal (crystal bowls and barware). Atlanta Market is home to more than 475 gourmet, housewares and tabletop lines, presented in showrooms on two dedicated floors of Building 2.

In temporary exhibits, some six brands debut in January: Better Than Booze (alcohol alternative mocktails); Cozyville Inc. (Dutch ovens and kitchen accessories); EVER.PARTY (hangover remedy strips); Gourmet Inspirations (sauces and rubs); Redemption Road Coffee (globally-sourced coffee beans); and Quentin’s Sauce (condiments). Additionally, nearly 150 gourmet, housewares and tabletop lines are presented in five temporary exhibit categories: Gourmet, Gourmet LUXE, Housewares, Tabletop & Entertaining and Tabletop LUXE, with Georgia Grown showcasing 50-plus Georgia-based gourmet brands.

JURA Demonstration Kitchen

The JURA Demonstration Kitchen, centrally located in the hub of Atlanta Market’s gourmet product resources (Building 2, Floor 8), offers three cooking classes during Market.

To date, two cooking classes are confirmed. Local chef Joseph Nguyen presents Sushi Roll 101 – a market exclusive how-to for making sushi rice, Maki and Hosomaki – in On a Roll with O-Ku Sushi on Thursday, January 18, at 2:30 p.m. Ari Lowenstein of Ari’s Pantry takes the stage to make arepas from the World Central Kitchen Cookbook in the Gift for Life Cooking Demo, on Friday, January 19, at 2:30 p.m. Atlanta Market participants who donate at least $20 through www.giftforlife.org/donate qualify to win one of 51 copies of The World Central Kitchen cookbook, one of which is signed by WCK founder Chef Jose Andres.

GCX: Start the Year

GC Buying Group returns to Atlanta Market for the third consecutive year with GCX: Start the Year, its premier programming initiative connecting gourmet, tabletop and housewares brands with retailers.

GCX: Start the Year opens with GCX Education, offering an exclusive seminar series complete with breakfast, a keynote address, lunch group chats, vendor presentations and member networking on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The GCX Expo and Vendor Showcase follows on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a special collection of kitchen, home and gift product, specially curated by GC Buying Group.

Community and connection are top of mind this Winter at the GCX Gala, an exclusive event for members to enjoy dinner, drinks and networking with industry affiliates on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 5 p.m. Prospective members of GC Buying Group are invited to an Interested Members Buyers Luncheon to learn about the benefits of membership on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 11:30 a.m.

Additional gourmet events include Culinary Futures, giving culinary students a hands-on experience preparing food with professional chefs on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 5:30 p.m.
