Woman, Husband Open Gift Shop in PiketonBy Stephanie StanleyPikeCountyDaily.com

Piketon, OH – For the past two decades, Sherry Ferguson and her husband, Al, have enjoyed traveling to locations such as Gatlinburg, Tennessee, St. Augustine, Florida, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On these trips, the couple found items that spoke to their home décor tastes and were inspired to start their own gift shop in Piketon.

After planning the business for over a year, Ferguson opened The Ferguson Collection, located at 723 S. West Street (next to Radiant Pools), on May 12th, 2014. The business is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and is closed Sunday and Monday.

“The most challenging aspect of running the business so far has been getting the public to notice it,” said Sherry Ferguson. “Once people come in the store, they comment on how beautiful and unique the merchandise is that I am offering. In fact, I already have several repeat visitors.”
