Women to Watch: Grandmother’s Challenge Pointed the Way to Success for Young Entrepreneur
Collierville, TN – When she was 9 years old, Stephanie Singley’s grandmother gave her and two cousins $100 each and told them to grow the money as much as they could within a year. Singley used her “startup funding” to sell handmade jewelry.
Twelve months later she’d earned $5,000, won the challenge and learned she had a head for business.
“That definitely influenced where I am today,” said Singley, who owns Bella Vita, a home décor and accessories store in Collierville, and its counterpart baby boutique, Itty Bitty Bella.
