Portsmouth, NH – A growing trend in the multi-billion dollar salt trade is the use of specialty sea salts for culinary purposes, and salt mixtures and bath salts for therapeutic purposes.

The Salt Cellar, which opened on Commercial Alley more than three years ago, sells an array of cand therapeutic salts, as well as salt lamps and other home décor.

“There will be some people that come in and ask us if we’re associated with the salt piles near the river,” Judit Vano-Tydeman, owner of the Salt Cellar, said with a laugh.
