zen zen GARDEN & HOME Celebrates 21st Year at NY Gift Fair/NY Now With Beautiful New Booth in Home Furnishings

Bali & California based company zen zen celebrates 21 years at NY Now (formerly the NY

International Gift Fair) with an expanded 440 square foot end cap booth, #2062, that has moved upstairs to the new HOME furnishings section, where artist and company founder Andrea Phillips creates an inviting and exotic shabby-chic environment with her table top, linens, home décor, pillows and furnishings, bath and kitchen products. The company, whose motto is “essentially green since 1992,” is a registered fair trade company that uses only natural, ecologically sustainable as well as recycled materials and is involved in re-forestation, organic farming, and community empowerment projects as well as sustainable business training for small to medium

enterprises in Indonesia.

For NY Now Winter 2014, zen zen will present new additions to their gorgeous Celadon Ceramics line, born out of a 20 year collaborative relationship with village artisans. They will also showcase beautiful hand blown glass table top items made from recycled glass and fantastic glasses made from recycled bottles.

Other exciting new products that will be featured at the zen zen booth for this show include sustainable wood shabby chic trays, hand painted in our most popular fabric motifs; bunting fabric flag banners, created after numerous customer requests; and innovative, wide fabric table runners that are a fresh new alternative to traditional style table cloths. There are new color additions to zen zen’s “Scrappy upcycled” home furnishings line. Made from natural, sustainable materials combined with factory scrap fabric, the Scrappy line is made into furniture, poufs, throws, cushions and more. The new colors of Scrappy crocheted shams, designed by Andrea and made by village women in the west of Bali were a great success at the Dallas mart.

Best selling items at earlier shows this month in Dallas and New England are products made with vetiver, a naturally aromatic root with a soothing scent and healing oil. Vetiver is used for zen zen’s placemats, runners and their popular bath mats, which all give off a soothing scent and are also machine washable. Other best-sellers are zen zen’s capiz shell salad bowls and servers, made by a family workshop in Java.

zen zen’s other hot selling product lines are their natural bath products and accessories along with nature-inspired print cotton robes and coordinating cosmetic cases; Scrappy upcycled glass jewelry on print cotton ribbons; the new Leaf print porcelain line designed by Andrea Phillips and made by a second generation family owned factory in Java; the zen zen Chef line of aprons, tea cozies, tea towels, pot holders, oven mitts and bottle bags; holiday ornaments; zen zen Kids with decorative animals and baby accessories; collapsible cloth lamp shades of print fabric or crocheted from Scrappy yarn that make it easy to change décor; and for the garden,

capiz shell chimes in a rainbow of gorgeous colors and zen zen’s signature Balinese Temple umbrellas, a favorite of event planners as they lend a wondrous mystique indoors or out and come in patio, terrace and table centerpiece sizes.

In trade news for zen zen, they have just partnered with Portico as their Dallas rep for Dallas Total Home & Gift Mart and with Ron Gilefsky & Company as their rep for the New England area at the Northeast Market Center in Hudson, MA. The company is expanding with a number of signature Balizen stores and boutiques that have opened in Bali and in other areas around the world this year.

We welcome and encourage you to come by zen zen’s booth 2062 in the Home Furnishings area to hear more directly from designer and owner Andrea Phillips along with some of her family and team!
