SF Cash Mob to Help Boost Local Running Store
San Francisco, CA – A “cash mob” of folks who support buying local will descend on Presidio Heights store A Runner’s Mind on Saturday, March 22.
“A cash mob is like a flash mob, but instead of dancing, we’re shopping at independent locally owned businesses with cash,” said Marc Callado, who with his partner Mari Bandoma runs a blog called WhyShiftLocal that’s promoting the event.
The national cash mob movement originated in Buffalo, N.Y. several years ago. The Bay Area has seen a few cash mobs, including ones in Alameda, San Lorenzo and Oakland, but the idea hasn’t really caught on here, even though there are plenty of shop-local proponents.
