Portico Spa Scheduled to Re-Launch in 2009

New York, NY – Portico Home + Spa announces its re-emergence in early 2009 redefining the brand in an eco-conscious direction. Portico Spa will offer a reformulated bath and body collection developed to help integrate green concepts into a daily grooming routine, while Portico Home will offer products including home textiles and furnishings that are environmentally sustainable and of the highest quality.

Combining science with social responsibility, the Portico Spa collection has been developed to both pamper and protect. Products including bath grains, body washes and scrubs, soaps, shampoos and conditioners will be formulated with organic ingredients, and will be free of parabens, harsh chemicals and artificial coloring. In addition, packaging will continue their eco-conscious direction using recycled and recyclable materials, as well as eco-friendly inks. The collection will be available at retail locations alongside the Portico Home collection to enforce the brand’s approach to a green-minded lifestyle and will also be distributed in beauty and spa outlets.

Portico Home’s textile products will feature 100% certified organic cotton and all manufacturing processes will be certified. The furniture collection will be sustainable.

Portico Home + Spa also announces the appointment of San Francisco-based designer Jodi Riviera as Chief Creative Director. Riviera, whose clients have included Crate & Barrel and Williams-Sonoma, is also pursuing a “Green MBA” from Dominican University in California. Her vision and inspiration will define the Portico aesthetic which will be positioned as attainable luxury.

To enforce Portico’s vision of green living to both retailers and consumers, Portico Home + Spa has teamed up with model, media host and brand strategist Summer Rayne Oakes, an authority on socio-environmental sustainability, sustainable style and environmental communications. Oakes will host an educational campaign for the Portico Home collection which will include video clips, email blasts, blogs, and mail and print media to reach a nation-wide audience.

Portico was acquired in 2007 by Gregg Haft of Fayette and Charles Schlang of Renaissance America.
