New northeast gift shop: EtceteraBy David BurgeElPasoTimes.com

Longtime gift-shop owner June Sepkowitz has expanded her operations and added a second store.

But experts say adding a second location is one of the toughest moves an entrepreneur can make.

Sepkowitz, who founded West Side gift store The Carriage House in early 1997 and has owned and operated it since then, opened her second store, which she’s calling Etcetera, on April 14 at 4242 Hondo Pass, Suite 113, at U.S. 54.

Her new business will celebrate its grand opening Saturday.

“I thought new store, new name,” she said.

The store specializes in small gifts for many occasions, greeting cards and candles, and carries well-known brands such as Willow Tree Angels, Yankee Candles, Precious Moments figurines and Webkinz stuffed animals.

Sepkowitz said the toughest challenge she’s facing so far with the new store is “being in two places at once.”
