Prairie Dog launches “Cake Towels”; Look Good Enough to Eat
IRVINE, Calif. – Is it a cup cake, a parfait or an entire window of bakery goods?
No. They are the Le Patissier line of ‘cake towels’ recently introduced to the United States by Prairie Dog America, Inc., a textile and interior furnishings company based in Irvine, California.
As beautiful as they are useful, the Le Patissier line of towels are made of 100% all-natural cotton, and created by designer Tadayoshi Iwaki. Prairie Dog America, Inc., is a subsidiary of Osaka, Japan-based Prairie Dog Co. Ltd., which manufactures and distributes various textiles to clients around the world. However, the Le Patissier cake towels by Prairie Dog Co. Ltd. are available for the first time in the United States.
Prairie Dog America, Inc., opened its office in Irvine after the Le Patissier line of towels received a significant response from gift retail storeowners during a debut appearance at an exhibition held late in 2007 on the East Coast.
“We were pleasantly surprised by the positive response we received when we first showed the cake towels to America last year,” said Yoshiyuki Matsuoka, president of Prairie Dog Co., Ltd.
“So we decided to open a U.S.-based office to begin offering Le Patissier to gift stores, sales representatives, hotels, corporations and consumers throughout the country.”
The towels were recently displayed at the AmericasMart exhibition in Atlanta, July 11 – 15, and they will be displayed at the following upcoming events:
