Taglio & Co. Joins 888 BRANNAN Community
SAN FRANCISCO — 888 BRANNAN, formerly the Giftcenter & Jewelrymart, proudly announces the addition of Taglio + Co. to our gift and home decorations showroom lineup. Owner Leslie Taglio, a longtime figure in the wholesale home accessories business, brings her experience and a bevy of well-known product lines like Guildmaster and Lins to the building.
Taglio says she is enjoying her presence at 888 BRANNAN, and that her years in the business and established relationships with many of the other tenants in the building are comforting in a time of such transition.
“There really is a support system here and I feel very much at home,” she says.
Taglio set up shop at 888 BRANNAN in July, after the closing of the SF Mart prompted her to seek other options for her business. Taglio admits the closing came as a shock and was quite disappointing, as she was in the process of putting her lines together at the time.
“I was excited about everything coming together and found out literally the next day about the closing. It was a big blow that took the wind out of my sails.”
Since relocating to 888 BRANNAN, Taglio says she is getting the company up on its feet and steadily building her customer base. She says her faith in the permanent showroom business model, her passion for what she does and her belief in the importance of regional markets are the main reasons why she is still in the Bay Area.
“I am a big proponent for having showrooms. In the home accessories business, people need to look, touch and match up their merchandise. The web just can’t service that need.”
Goals for the coming year? Taglio says she hopes to eventually expand her space at 888, and get her Web site up and running.
