Decorating items galore at Olde District 5 gift shopBy Lindsey ParkerSouthBendTribune.com

South Bend, IN — With one room after another, each elegantly adorned with everything from candles to decorations to kitchenware, there are hundreds of decorating possibilities for any home during any season at Olde District 5 gift shop.

Located on Indiana 331 in South Bend, Olde District 5 is a gift shop where you can find items collected both locally and from around the country. There are beautiful items for the kitchen, bathroom, kids’ room, and every other room in the house.

“I looked at several locations trying to find just the right place for my gift shop, and this was it,” says Michelle Moser, owner of Olde District 5. Moser decided that this house had just the look and feel that she wanted for her gift shop.

When Moser bought the old home that houses her shop, she found out that it had quite a history.

The place was originally a built in 1904 and operated as a one-room schoolhouse until 1929. It had since been used as a home until six years ago when Moser bought it for her gift shop.

“Decorating is something that I have enjoyed and wanted to do since high school,” says Moser. She worked with some gift shops in Nappanee before deciding it was time for her to open her own store.

Moser has collected hundreds of items for every room in the house that she sells in her gift shop. The items that are sold are mostly made in the United States and some of the items are from local craft marts and artists.
