Kerusso Introduces African-American Fashion Doll to Popular God’s Girlz List
Berryville, Ark. – Kerusso, the leading producer of Christian-themed apparel and figures in the United States, has introduced its first African-American 12-inch fashion doll. Named “Imani,” which means “faith,” the doll joins Kerusso’s best-selling God’s Girlz line, which includes “Sarah,” “Abigail” and “Hannah.”
“We’ve heard from moms and their daughters who tell us that the God’s Girlz fashion doll line contributes to their faith,” said Vic Kennett, CEO and President of Kerusso. “The God’s Girlz line is packed with inspirational content designed to encourage faith-encouraging play.”
The “Imani” fashion doll ($14.99, TYGG101) is dressed in the latest contemporary fashions, including a jean skirt and jacket, matching pink headband and tights, and a matching purse and T-shirt.
All of the God’s Girlz figures are posable and wear the latest styles. Each is outfitted with her very own Kerusso T-shirt and accessories. To enhance a child’s identification with the fashion doll, Kerusso offers similarly styled Kerusso T-shirts, jewelry, hats and beanies in youth sizes for young girls to wear.
Various accessories are available. God’s Girlz accessory assortments give the child the option to change the look of her God’s Girlz fashion doll. They include T-shirts, toy-purses, toy cell phones, toy brushes, changeable toy boots, a toy pet dog and more. Accessory sets are $8.99 each.
One mother said, “Our girls (mine and others from family and church) love the God’s Girlz. It’s about time someone came up with a wholesome fashion doll!”
Kennett said that Kerusso’s research showed that Christian mothers are uncomfortable with the risqué fashion dolls over the last several years. “As a faith-based apparel company, we felt that we could make a positive contribution to the young generation with modest, yet fashionable, contemporary fashion dolls,” Kennett said. “Imani is a beautiful, African-American young lady that girls will identify with in a very positive, godly way.”
