Iota Wins HOW Magazine Merit Award for Design

January 4, 2010 (Basalt, Colo.) — Iota, a purveyor of trend-setting stationery and gifting essentials, is the winner of a Merit Award from top design publication, HOW Magazine, for its innovative, “out of the box” consumer apron packaging design. The winning entry is one of 73 winning designs across 10 unique categories per its annual In-Howse Design Awards competition, which spotlights the very best work from designers in leading corporations, organizations and associations across the country, according to the publication. HOW Magazine serves the business, technological and creative needs of graphic design professionals through its monthly publication, annual events, competitions and books.

Iota’s winning apron packaging is featured in the magazine’s 25th anniversary issue on newsstands in February. Iota is in good company: Other winners include in-house design teams from the Museum of Modern Art, Whole Foods Market, Starbucks, Gallo Family Vineyards and Wells Fargo, among others.

Iota founder and designer, Kelly Alford, is thrilled with the recent honor. “Iota design is born of the idea that little things can come together to move mountains,” notes Alford. “This award is acknowledgement of the many things we do at iota that culminate into big things out in the world. It is very satisfying to see.”
