Chesapeake Bay Candle Announces Plans to Open New Facility in Maryland
Rockville, MD – Pacific Trade International, the integrated global marketer of candles, home fragrance, and home décor products and the company behind the Chesapeake Bay Candle brand, announces plans to establish its first domestic production and distribution facility in Glen Burnie, MD.
After searching the world over, Chesapeake Bay Candle is finding the way home. Inspired by the serene beauty of Maryland’s idyllic shoreline, husband-and-wife-team Mei Xu and David Wang started the business in their home in Annapolis, MD in 1994. From the very beginning, Chesapeake Bay Candle focused on creating style, ambiance, and fragrance to celebrate special moments in consumers’ lives.
Season after the season, the search for design inspirations and fragrance innovation takes the Chesapeake Bay Candle team around the globe: from the fragrances houses in Provence to the dazzling stores of London, New York and Tokyo; to the fashion and interior shows in Paris and Frankfurt; and to numerous sourcing and manufacturing partners in Asia.
Fifteen years after everything started, Chesapeake Bay Candle is proud to announce plans to establish a domestic manufacturing and distribution facility in the place where our dreams were born: the beautiful state of Maryland.

They will not wait if a product is out of stock. Candles are about passion, and passion cannot wait.”
Pacific Trade International and Chesapeake Bay Candle home fragrance products are available through leading retailers including Target, Kohl’s and Pier 1 Imports and numerous others. The Maryland manufacturing and distribution facility represents the company’s fourth production site, and is the first in the US. The facility will provide a sustainable and environmentally-friendly production base for Chesapeake Bay Candle brand growth.
Infrastructure plans are underway to support an opening date in late 2010.
