New Arts And Crafts Store Opens In New Bern MallBy Sun Journal StaffENCToday.com

Michaels, an arts and crafts specialty retail store, opens Sunday at the New Bern Mall.

It is the latest edition of new stores at the mall and is located beside the Shoe Dept Encore, which opened in November.

Michaels will have 16,984 square feet of retail space. A 9:45 a.m. Sunday ribbon-cutting is scheduled and the doors open at 10 a.m. The first 200 shoppers receive a free tote.

“We are excited about the opening of Michaels at New Bern Mall,” said John Gibson, managing member of Hull Storey Gibson Companies, the mall owner. “We are dedicated to a success of the New Bern Mall and know that this addition of a specialty retail store will have a positive impact on the economic growth of the New Bern community.”

New Bern’s mascot bear will be on hand along with the New Bern High Marching Band, according to a release from Hull Storey Gibson.
