Nursery To Showcase Gift Shop During Open HouseBy Cory DavenportTheTelegraph.com

MOUNT OLIVE – One of the region’s most distinctive gift shops is at Lakeview Nursery, and their open house on Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, is a great time to go see it.

Lakeview Nursery is in their sixth growing season. They grow annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs in their own 22,000-square-foot greenhouse and growing facility.

The gift shop is styled like an mid-19th century storefront fashioned out of barn wood with replicas of a bank and train depot. Inside the gift shop is a gardener’s paradise, with everything you need for gardening and landscaping. They also sell wind chimes, bird feeders, flags and doormats.

Lakeview Nursery also promises excellent products.

“We have the best-looking annuals and perennials. All our trees come with a one-year warranty. We wouldn’t want to sell anything that we wouldn’t use in our own yards,” said Todd Salzman, who owns the company with his father, Gary.

The nursery’s open house is the unofficial kickoff of spring in Mount Olive. It features food, kettle corn, clowns and face-painting for the children, and live music.

On April 30, music will be provided by Rick Rayburn. On May 1, music will be provided by Steve Davis and his Memories of Elvis.
