“I pay attention to the ‘think local first’ campaign,” the Poughkeepsie resident said. “For example, I would rather go to Adams Fairacre Farms for my local produce and I’ll shop for New York state wines. I stay away from national chain restaurants, since the Hudson Valley has such great local restaurants. Even when I travel, I try to help the local economy and go into the mom-pop shops.”
