Friends Launch Gift Shop in BrightonBy Jim TottenLivingstonDaily.com

Brighton, MI – Longtime friends Cathy Dedakis and Annette Jacoby enjoy shopping in downtown Brighton and were saddened when His Bible & Book House closed its doors last year.

After doing their homework, the two decided to sass up Brighton in their own way. They opened their shop, Sassafrass Gifts, this month and filled in part of the vacancy left by His Bible & Book House, which had one of the largest storefronts in the downtown area. A women’s clothing store Talula, opened in the other half of the space (see accompanying story).

“We kind of want an experience,” Dedakis said.

She said they want customers to hang out as long as they want, and they plan on making people welcome in their shop at 108 W. Main St.
