The Candy Cottage Highlights Successes of 2011

The Candy Cottage, a ready-to-decorate, no bake, reusable Gingerbread House, experienced a prosperous year in 2011. Aimed at helping families make memories as sweet as their decorated creations The Candy Cottage – created by two North Carolina moms – has proved to be a hit with consumers. A strong first appearance at the 2011 AmericasMart® gift show in Atlanta led the company to stock dealers in more than 35 states. As inventory sold out, dealers placed reorders and now The Candy Cottage, which has also created a significant community presence on Facebook, is on the road to another successful year in 2012.

During the 2011 AmericasMart® gift show in Atlanta, The Candy Cottage signed more than 125 gift shops, principally concentrated, in the South Eastern U.S. Since the show, The Candy Cottage has fulfilled reorders for more than 40 percent of the signed dealers, and 30 percent of the dealers have placed reorders three or more times. While having an influx of dealers wishing to carry the product in their stores, The Candy Cottage received tremendous consumer support and is now sold in more than 35 states since the first season of sales.

“We’re thrilled to see our dream take flight so quickly and be sold in so many specialty gift shops nationwide,” said Rhonda Dunn, co-owner of The Candy Cottage. “We have enjoyed being able to travel to gift shows in Baton Rouge, Memphis, Raleigh, Columbia and Richmond, and look forward to what the New Year has in store for us.”

The Candy Cottage, established in October 2010, is a reusable Gingerbread House that can be used season after season and year round during various holidays, birthdays and even as a Saturday afternoon craft project. The Candy Cottage comes ready to decorate, simply snaps together in less than 60 seconds and comes with a decorating idea guide and instructions. The Candy Cottage is available online at http://candycottage.us/ or in your local retail stores.
