Jacksonville, FL – With today being Ash Wednesday, the launch of the Lenten season leading to Easter is here, which means business for Queen of Angels Catholic Store.

The shop specializes in religious gifts, books and jewelry. It has been in business for about 10 years, the last eight under the ownership of Maureen Gallavan and her husband. She oversees three employees at the shop at 11018 Old St. Augustine Road in the Mandarin Central shopping center.

The 66-year-old Gallavan said she throws her life into the Roman Catholic store. She said the 2,200-square-foot facility is open to anyone interested in religion and is an extension of her faith and service, though the store is not associated with any particular church.
