Dates & Location Change for Launch of Artisan Resource at NYIGF
The dates and location have been changed for the summer 2012 debut of Artisan Resource™, a first-of-its-kind artisan production-sourcing event for U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers and wholesalers. Artisan Resource will be held semi-annually alongside the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), with the first edition running Sunday, August 19, through Tuesday, August 21, at New York City’s Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 92.

Artisan Resource will present a curated collection of overseas artisan enterprises offering handmade production resources and products, at export terms from country of origin. This new trade event also will offer programming for exhibitors and attendees, including seminars on topics such as importing basics, FOB pricing, customs, warehousing and distribution. A special VIP preview will be held on Saturday, August 18, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM.
According to Christian Falkenberg, NYIGF manager and GLM vice president, “By launching Artisan Resource at Pier 92, which is its ultimate destination in 2013 and beyond, rather than the Javits Center as originally announced, we minimize any opportunity for buyer confusion, and create a dedicated venue for this new and differentiated offering which targets a select audience.”
