Plymouth, IN – A spring flowering of small businesses in downtown Plymouth is leveraging Facebook in a mutual “Liking” arrangement that multiplies exposure and accelerates traffic.

“It’s amazing the kind of stuff we have downtown right now,” said Betty Glaub-Gibbs, office manager for the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce that has been in the area for decades. “A lot of people don’t even know they’re down here yet.”

A half-dozen new or coming-soon shops are revitalizing the area with a spirit of cooperation, not competition, with each other as well as with established businesses in the district.

“Basically we’re all on Facebook,” explains Molly McLane manager of Rock On 109 Boutique opened in July by Bonnie Rock. “We’re on Facebook, so when our neighbors post something they’re selling I can post that. I can ‘Like’ it.
