The Time is Ripe: New Watch Area at Ambiente 2013

Ambiente is the world’s leading trade fair for products for the home and furnishing, for the table, kitchen and household, and for gift ideas. The exhibits include high-grade home and furnishing accessories, trendy gift articles, fashion accessories and jewellery. Renowned for its range of costume and genuine jewellery, the Carat product segment will be supplemented by watches from 2013. Prominently located in the jewellery hall, the new watches area will contribute to the development of the broad range of products already to be seen at Ambiente. This will make the fair even more attractive for buyers because, from 2013, they will be able to order watches as supplementary products in addition to articles from the Giving, Living and Dining sections. Thus, the new watches area will not only be of interest to jewellery stores and jewellers but also to buyers from classic lifestyle and design shops, interior and furnishing boutiques, clothing and gift boutiques and museum shops and galleries.

With this innovation, Ambiente aims to give buyers the chance to order items that perfectly complement their main assortment. Watch manufacturers benefit not only from the large number of international trade visitors but also from the extensive, cross-sector attention that only the world’s most important consumer-goods fair can offer.

“The new watches area is a reaction to requirements and developments on both sides of the market – the increased interest being shown by manufacturers and the demand by trade visitors for a range of watches that will enable them to expand or round off their assortments”, says Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambiente / Tendence. This will make the highly diverse and differentiated range of products to be seen at Ambiente, the world’s most important international consumer-goods fair, more extensive than ever before.
