Westport, MA – Thirty-three years after it opened, Partners Village Store in Westport has come a long way.

Jan Hall, who co-owns the store with business partner Nancy Crosby, gives an abbreviated history of the shop since it was founded more than three decades ago.

“We started as a wholesale store that sold mostly wine- and beer-making supplies, along with a retail section,” says Hall. “Nancy began wine- and beer-making in Westport, Conn., but she was originally from New Bedford and wanted to come back to the area.”

That’s when Crosby opened her store just down the road from Partners’ current location. The shop had a retail section, which eventually became more popular and eventually the original wine and beer production merchandise was dropped. Hall came aboard in 1980, and says she and Crosby have grown as businesswomen along with their store.
