Shop Small, Shop Local: Supporting Merchants Keeps Money Here
Queen Creek, AZ – Shop small. Shop local. That’s the message being sent to Queen Creek and San Tan Valley throughout the year, but especially during the busy holiday season.
While huge corporations such as Amazon and Best Buy prepared for long lines of consumers on Black Friday, Nov. 23, arguably the kick-off to the busiest shopping season of the year, business leaders from the town of Queen Creek and San Tan Valley were promoting their own merchants with campaigns designed to “shop small.”
The San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce designated November as small business month, spotlighting a different chamber member daily leading up to the national Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24. The town of Queen Creek has brought back its Shop Queen Creek for the Holidays program, offering consumers a chance to win prizes by submitting their register receipts from town vendors.
