Dallas Market Center Launches Total Housewares & Gourmet Market

Dallas Market Center today announced the launch of the Total Housewares & Gourmet Market, a new trade event occurring at the same time as the Total Home & Gift Market, Jan. 16-22, 2013. The show will feature an array of new exhibitors, special events/seminars, celebrity chef appearances including renowned Australian Chef, author and TV personality Curtis Stone as well as educational opportunities featuring a presentation by Bob Coviello, president of HTI Buying Group.

“Over the past year we have grown our housewares and gourmet marketplace by more than 25 percent,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. “We’re thrilled to launch this new show as we continue to strengthen the product offerings and establish Dallas as one of the top gourmet products destinations.” Houseware Hotspots will run daily in the Trade Mart and feature product demonstrations from resources including: Bodum, Boston Warehouse, Calphalon, Chicago Metallic, Cuisipro, Curious Chef, Island Bamboo, Jura Capresso, Kuhn Rikon, Mauviel Cookware, OXO International, Soda Stream, Trudeau Corporation, USA Pans and Wilton Armetale.

The FINDS Dallas Temp Show has doubled its Table & Housewares category to showcase functional gifts, dining, cooking and entertaining wares, as well as clever items for the home. Key exhibitors include: Artistic Creations, Creative Gift, Dansk, Gorham and Lenox.

Curtis Stone will return to The Culinary Stage for a product demonstration on Saturday, Jan. 19 at noon in the World Trade Center (WTC) Hall of Nations as part of a full schedule of demonstrations to celebrate Dallas’ expanding housewares marketplace. His line, Kitchen Solutions, is available in Source One Marketing, Trade Mart, 1-1949.

Bob Coviello, president of HTI Buying Group, will help lead the educational opportunities at market. He will present “Managing by the Numbers” on Thursday, Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. until noon in Trade Mart 2-2355. Coviello will share his personal profit/loss model as well as highlighting key income and expense formulas used with variables to fit the retail business environment. Participants will leave the seminar with a proven method to assist them in store performance analysis.

Dallas Market Center is currently home to more than 1,500 premier manufacturers of housewares and gourmet products in permanent showrooms, temporary booths and the open-daily Gourmet Market, which underwent an expansion and renovation earlier this year.
