‘Color Me Blessed’ Line Offers Unique Faith Keepsakes
The new “Color Me Blessed” line from Abbey Press, which debuts the first of this year, offers appealing gifts for children receiving the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. Adorned with kid-friendly patterns and inspirational words, the colorful keepsake gifts are designed to be displayed in children’s rooms as reminders of their Christian faith.
The hardboard wall cross for each sacrament ($12 SRP) has a decoupage-style facing with a Scripture quote on a layered center piece. The coordinating hardboard plaque-sitters ($10 SRP) are designed to stand on a shelf, desk or table. Each features an inspirational phrase that provides a daily reminder of the special grace conferred by that sacrament.
Artist Amie Jones describes the “Color Me Blessed” designs as “an eclectic mix of fun patterns in an array of complementary colors.” She says her goal was to create items that would be visually attractive and age-appropriate, while serving as meaningful reminders of faith. As inspiration for the artwork, she followed “the current design trend of combining pattern motifs. I wanted to add a twist of the unexpected to sacrament-themed gifts that are typically very traditional in art style,” she says.
For children being baptized, receiving First Communion or making their Confirmation, the items in the “Color Me Blessed” collection make ideal gifts from parents, grandparents, godparents, or any caring friends or relatives. In fact, these faith-based products are wonderful gifts to give children for any special occasion. The line’s colorful crosses and accent pieces are destined to become treasured mementos, reminding children of God’s ever-present grace and love.
