Renewed Alamo Gift Shop Reopens
San Antonio, TX – With a bit of dramatic flourish befitting the Cradle of Texas Liberty, the Alamo entered a new era Friday in the modern retail frontier, reopening its renovated and “re-imagined” gift store.
“To the people of Texas and all Americans in the world,” historical interpreter Wade Dillon, quoting William Barret Travis and dressed as the young Alamo commander, proclaimed as he cut a red ribbon with a Bowie knife to officially reopen the Alamo Gift Shop.
As if on cue, C.C., the black-and-white cat that lives at the state-owned complex, entered the store first, ahead of the media, visitors and workers on the grounds.
