If Only … a Fine Store Radiates Uniqueness
Fairbanks, AK – If Only … a fine store, is celebrating 15 years of selling books, jewelry, bags, candles, scarves and dozens of other items to locals and tourists alike. If Only … a fine store started with five friends who wanted to open a store downtown. “The five of us were committed to being downtown because we believed that the heart of any community is downtown,” said Georgjean Seeliger, one of the owners of If Only … a fine store. In the past 15 years, three of the original owners have retired, leaving Seeliger and Rebecca Morse as the remaining owners.
Seeliger and Morse’s mission is providing a fun and interesting store to all who enter their doors. “We are trying our hardest to have unique items and items that represent artists and craft items in Alaska,” Seeliger said. Seeliger and Morse work with about 50 Alaskan artists and craftspeople and are committed to selling items locals are interested in. “Everything in the store has to be palatable for local people. We aren’t interested in having things in our store we wouldn’t consider giving as a gift or having in our own home,” Seeliger said.
One memorable part of If Only … a fine store is the wooden woman standing out front.
