Unique Soda and Candy Shop Opens in TylerBy Nicole VowellKETKNBC.com

Tyler, TX – f you’re looking for a real life ‘candy land,’ or a time capsule back to the 1950’s, a new soda-pop and candy store, Rocket Fizz, in Tyler is the place to go. Owner Steve Farmer says, “We actually boast one of the largest inventories of soda pop and candy in the country.” The store has a sea of salt water taffy, over 100 flavors, towers of Toblerone, and thousands of different kinds of old fashion favorites.

Customer’s say this candy store isn’t just for kids. Sharon Sobotka of Tyler says, “This is for all ages, the little kids now, the older kids like us.” Wendy Vandeventer says, “I grew up with an orthodontist dad so all this stuff reminds me of all the stuff I always wanted growing up but never got.”

Farmer says, “A lot of people come in and say, ‘oh my gosh I haven’t seen this in years’, I didn’t think this was still made.” From gag gifts, to old-school concert posters, and tin signs, Rocket Fizz is two of a kind, there are only two stores in Texas. One in Houston, and now one in Tyler.
