Books, Toys and More: Buttonwood Celebrates 25 Years of Business
Cohasset, MA -As Betsey Detwiler, founder and former owner of Buttonwood Books and Toys recently told the Mariner, after spending a quarter-century running a local shop, “You really get a slice of life.”
After 25 years in business, the staff at Buttonwood, an independent bookstore, has certainly seen it all. Customers come and go, and many stick around — and bring their children and grandchildren in to enjoy the store that they have grown to love over two and a half decades.
Co-owner and former Deer Hill teacher Arna Lewis said, “I’m meeting kids who are now having children, who are coming in with their grandparents who are original customers. To see the continuity of families shopping in the store is a wonderful aspect of being in business.”
