Kittery, ME – Just us Chickens Gallery, an art and craft co-op, has roosted at three locations in its eight years, settling at 16A Shapleigh Road in Kittery, Maine, about mid 2013.

The shop features the work of two dozen members, and a monthly guest artist. January’s solo exhibition belongs to Betty Lathrop, painter of silk, brilliantly colored creatures and gardens.

“Most of the time the featured monthly is not a member,” says Judi Hilt, one of the co-op’s five board of directors members. “We don’t encourage that unless someone has to back out at the last minute and occasionally someone steps in. We’re looking for new artists to keep things fresh.”
