New Children’s Gift, Apparel Shop Features Hard-to-Find BrandsBy WRAL.com

Raleigh, NC – Lauren Hood has always loved decorating and dressing up. And when she gave birth to her first daughter two years ago, she had a new muse.

Hood spent her free time searching for clothes and brands online, finding treasures in the pictures other moms posted on Instagram. But looking around Raleigh, Hood couldn’t find those same brands of adorable clothes and gear. So she decided to offer it herself.

Hood left her full-time job and opened Progeny, a children’s shop in Raleigh’s Five Points, March 1. The store features clothes, toys and gifts for kids. Items come from Europe and beyond and right here in the Triangle. (They include the batik apparel made by Kristen Crumbley, who I featured here last year).
