Saginaw, MI – Jacqueline “Jackie” Carrington, 38, worked in a corporate setting, in a hair salon and in event planning, but today she is wearing the hat of a small-business owner.

Carrington calls her jewelry boutique Laila Rose a “great little secret” in Old Town Saginaw. The business at 420 Hancock, near North Michigan, is a “one-of-a-kind source of style that helps women find their fabulous,” Carrington said.

She opened the business in 2013 after owning a beauty salon and barber shop.Ashley G. Terrell
