Harris Launches Children’s Clothing Boutique in KatonahBy Reece AlvarezLewisboroLedger.com

Katonah, NY – Calling it her “fourth child,” Katonah resident Jessica Harris recently opened the doors of the children’s clothing boutique & James in downtown Katonah. It is her first solo business venture and a successful one at that, with Ms. Harris reporting brisk business in her children’s haberdashery since opening in September.

Ms. Harris is a mother of three young sons — William, Nicholas and 21-month-old James, for whom the store is named — and has fashion and merchandising in her blood as a buyer for the children’s wear line of Ralph Lauren for more than a decade, including sourcing items from Europe.

“I really wanted this to be like a haberdashery, to really feel special and one-of-a-kind,” she said. “I traveled in Europe a ton and I didn’t want to do a lot of the European brands. A lot of the brands, actually 90% of the store, is made in the U.S.”
