Garcia manages the over 30 volunteers that power the Nature Shop as well as overseeing retail operations for the shop – whose profits provide essential funding for the programs of Seattle Audubon. He strives to create a safe and welcoming space that is seen as not just a retail store but as a valuable community resource as well. He is also an advocate for diversity in the environmental/outdoor movement, volunteering his time as a local trip leader with the non-profit Latino Outdoors. Garcia truly believes that much like the great outdoors, The Nature Shop has something for everybody.
