Add Sparkle to Holiday Sales By Emily Lambert

Tree toppers are sold by many ornament manufacturers, allowing customers to match their ornaments with their tree toppers, in both color and style. For customers collecting Egyptian glass ornaments, for example, they will find the same handmade appeal in Egyptian Museum’s tree toppers.

Midwest offers more than 30 styles of tree toppers. Some of the more popular designs bring a new twist to the classic star tree topper, such as a silver starburst tree topper made of glass glitter and a rustic tree topper made of pinecones. “We have also introduced a whimsical Santa hat tree topper that plays with shape and scale. It’s 72 inches long, so it can be placed on top of the tree, then wound around, or playfully cascaded down the tree,” says Shelli Lissick, brand communication specialist at Midwest.

Paul Thompson, vice president of Creative at OneCoast suggests retailers merchandise tree toppers as creatively as they do their ornaments, putting them in places other than the top of a tree. “Tree toppers can be put on a mantel or in a group as a centerpiece,” he says.
