Peggy’s Picks
Peggy and Gary Budlong are Honolulu fixtures. The charming couple owned the popular Anna Banana’s bar and Go Bananas Kayaks before opening Peggy’s Picks, a unique gift shop specializing in local art and exquisite estate sale finds. Inspired by the beautiful offerings they found for sale while on their honeymoon in Bali, Peggy and Gary travel the world looking for unique art, crafts, and furniture to sell in their store.
Open for 16 years, Peggy’s Picks is the place to go to find unique items with a real Hawaiian feel. With items like beautiful ceramic serving trays in the shape of the state fish, the Humu Humu Nuku Nuku Apua’a, kitschy doorstops and glasses holders, as well as gorgeous estate sale finds hand selected by Peggy’s mother in Chicago, there is something for everybody at Peggy’s Picks.
The store gives off a real community vibe. A jar of jellybeans sits on the front counter for browsers looking to satisfy their sweet tooth and Peggy and her small staff make a point of treating customers as they would like to be treated when shopping. The prices in the store are remarkably reasonable and make it so that shoppers on any budget can find an unusual gift in their price range.
Peggy and Gary like their customers to feel like they are a part of the community and make sure to let people who shop at Peggy’s Picks know what is going on around town.
